About the project
What we are doing
Young people in Imvepi refugee settlement learn coding, electronics and design to turn re-used materials and phones into solutions for local problems.
In 2025, 132 participants trained in advanced innovation using Arduino Uno, AI-assisted design tools and circuit building. Six business groups were formed, 29 participants gained coding, electronics and prototyping skills, and 96 more took part in CCB innovation workshops.
The youth developed two apps, a motorcycle security alarm and a legal information app. The motorcycle alarm, with button, RFID-card and Bluetooth versions and an engine cut-off, is expected to reach the market in 2026.
