About the project
What we are doing
Communities, schools and institutions plant trees and apply ecological practices to bring degraded land back to life.
In 2025, 1,317 trees were planted to regenerate 65.86 acres of degraded land in Wakiso and Mubende. The work directly benefited 467 households and involved 7 schools, 1 cultural institution, 4 religious institutions, 2 local government units, 2 security institutions, 2 health facilities and 1 company.
Community nurseries at the Kulika Training Centre and Kawerimidde Farmer Group raised 101,050 seedlings, including Terminalia, Maesopsis, Prunus africana and soursop. Tree survival remains the main challenge we are monitoring, and solar irrigation is planned next.
