Inclusive Quality Education and Lifelong Learning

What we are doing
In Bidibidi refugee settlement (Ariwa, Zone 5) and Bijo Sub-county, Yumbe, we bring children back to learning, train young people in market skills and support early childhood centres.
Four vocational skills centres trained youth in tailoring, hairdressing, welding, bakery and confectionery, with 13 qualified artisans. 44 students graduated and received start-up kits. Under the AKO-funded component, 195 out-of-school youth were supported back into structured learning, alongside 8 early childhood caregivers and 63 Bonga mentors.
Four ECD centres received swings, slides and merry-go-rounds for 831 children, and 270 adolescents learned to make reusable sanitary pads. 1,000 parents were supported to start household gardens, and 200 parents and caregivers were trained in child nutrition and development.
