Under this project, 39 farmers were facilitated to assess value-chain-actor services most needed in their community. Key of which were research service, certification services, market pricing skills, post-harvest handling and agro-processing services.

Consumer awareness talk shows on the benefits of production and consumption of organic products were conducted on radio and television. Over 500 people made follow-up calls especially on how to practice EOA to get safe food and on growing organic tomatoes. 63 farmers were trained to engage with domestic and export markets using certification schemes. 12 farms were selected for 3rd party organic certification. 34 farmers (17 women and 9 men, 8 youths) were trained in processing 5 selected products.

The project was implemented in Luweero, Mukono and Wakiso districts and funded by Biovision Africa Trust in collaboration with Pelum Uganda.
