The Project was designed to develop and demonstrate optimal solutions for cultivation practices, processing and productization towards new value chains, thus enhancing nutritionally balanced food consumption in urban Africa and creating opportunities to reach international markets. Kulika attended the project kick-off meeting, planning and review meetings with the International Consortium partners and local Ugandan Partners (Makerere University, FONUS and UMA)

•          Visited the project districts (Kaberamaido, Ngora and Wakiso) to introduce the project to stakeholders.

•          Stakeholder mapping was undertaken,

•          Memoranda of understanding were developed with the districts.

•          21 farmer-groups were registered to participate in the project.

The project is funded by the European Union H2020 through VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.
