Kulika is seeking a dynamic, resilient and experienced individual to join our team for the position of;<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"168\"><strong>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><strong>Position:<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"433\">Farm Headsman<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"168\"><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Reporting to: <\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"433\">Training Centre Manager<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"168\"><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Location:<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"433\">Kulika Training Centre, Lutiisi, Wakiso<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"168\"><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Duration:<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"433\">2 years<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Purpose of the Job <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the farm and ensure that all farming activities, livestock enterprises and other agricultural production activities are properly planned, implemented and maintained in accordance with Kulika Uganda&#8217;s standards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Functions\/Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Farm Operations<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise daily farm activities, including crop production, livestock management, agroforestry and other farm enterprises.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare daily and weekly work plans for farm workers and ensure that assigned activities are completed.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor land preparation, planting, weeding, harvesting and post-harvest handling.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper maintenance of farm structures, equipment, tools and facilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Livestock Management<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the daily management of pigs, poultry, goats, cattle, rabbits and other livestock kept at the Centre.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure adequate feeding, watering, hygiene and general welfare of livestock.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor livestock health and promptly report signs of disease or unusual behaviour to the Training Centre Manager and relevant technical personnel.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain proper records of livestock numbers, births, deaths, sales, purchases, feeds and treatments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Farm Workers Supervision<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Allocate duties to farm workers and supervise their performance.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that farm workers observe proper work procedures, safety requirements and hygiene standards.<\/li>\n<li>Identify labour and operational needs and report them to the Training Centre Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Farm Inputs and Equipment<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor the use and storage of seeds, feeds, fertilizers, organic inputs, veterinary supplies, tools and other farm materials.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that farm equipment and tools are properly used and maintained.<\/li>\n<li>Report damaged, missing or inadequate equipment and inputs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Production and Income-Generating Activities<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the effective operation of farm-based income-generating activities such as piggery, poultry, honey production, crop production, briquettes and other enterprises.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor production levels and provide timely information on expected harvests, sales and production challenges.<\/li>\n<li>Support the Centre in identifying opportunities to improve farm productivity and profitability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Records and Reporting<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain accurate farm records and production registers.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare regular reports on farm activities, production, challenges and requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Provide information required for planning budgeting, and monitoring of farm enterprises.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Environmental Management<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Support soil and water conservation, agroforestry and other climate-smart agricultural practices.<\/li>\n<li>Promote sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper management of farm waste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Other Duties<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Support practical training of interns, farmers and other trainees when required.<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other duties related to farm operations as assigned by the Training Centre Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Specifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Farm Management or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>At least <strong>3 years&#8217;
