The Friends of Kulika Group provides a number of avenues through which a person can participate in projects that make a sustainable transformation in the lives of those less fortunate in society. This can be achieved in the following ways;
•General donations can help support projects that are Kulika Uganda funded and therefore dependent on locally raised funds •Fund a project that is of specific interest to you or your organisation •Co-fund a project where Kulika Uganda has been able to raise partial funding or is looking for matching funds •Partner to implement a project. In most cases of project implementation there are areas of need that are not particularly Kulika Uganda’s expertise but are needed for the success of a project. Partnership are able to bring in new expertise and enhance the beneficiaries livelihoods contributing to the sustainability of the project •Volunteer to work with Kulika in the implementation of a project or in the general project support. Volunteers are welcome to Kulika Uganda and the organisation recognises the value of volunteers and the mutual benefit a volunteer program has •Internships are a great way to begin work and gain the much needed experience to step into the job market. Kulika Uganda has an internship program that is mutually benefiting
Contribute to funding specific activities / project:
Support a farmer through the 11 month Kulika Training course in Sustainable Organic Agriculture to become a Key Farmer Trainer.
Support a farmer through a short Kulika Training course in Sustainable Organic Agriculture to become a Key Farmer.
Support a farmer through a short Kulika Training course that focuses on enterprise development and entrepreneurship. The farmer will be able to set up his/her own business and increase his/her household income.
Provide a farmer a start-up boost in the form livestock, poultry or fish
Provide a farmer with a boost for his farm in the form of farm inputs:
Support a youth through a vocational training course for the youth to become a skilled practitioner in their field of training and provide a much needed skill and service in their community.
Support a farmer group to develop into a cooperative with strong systems and able to acquire agricultural loans
Key Farmer Trainers carry out farmer to farmer extension and increase their own farm productivity and that of the farmers in their farmer group
Key Farmers train for a shorter period, they carry out farmer to farmer extension and increase their farm productivity that of farmers in their farmer group.
The trained farmer is able to improve their income by practicing the skills and knowledge gained from the training. They share this with farmers in their groups, with family and neighbors.
Farmers are able to build up their livestock, poultry or fish farms etc… and will increase their food security and household income
inputs enable the farmers to ably manage their farms, increase and maintain a
high production which in turn provides them with food security and improves
their household income.
A youth with a skill with be able to provide a much needed service in their community and will be able to set up their own business
cooperatives enable the farmers to bulk their produce and make more from than
they would be selling as individuals.
They have access to crop financing which enables them to produce more resulting
in food security and increase income
