Equity and Merit Scholarships aim to assist talented but economically disadvantaged students from some of the world’s poorest countries.
The Equity and Merit Scheme reflects our determination, as a major higher education institution in a relatively wealthy society, to address issues of educational disadvantage, not only nationally, but also internationally. The Scheme was launched in 2007 and operates in Bangladesh, Kenya and Rwanda. The programme has three strands:
Equity and Merit Scholarships for Uganda and Rwanda 2011/12The University of Manchester is pleased to invite applications for up to seven scholarships for postgraduate taught masters starting in September 2011. The scholarships are intended to support students from Uganda and Rwanda who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and would not otherwise be able to study abroad.
